Stand-up for Headstart is a virtual fundraising event of Moncton Headstart Inc. The event will star PEI comedian Patrick Ledwell and will feature live music from Moncton’s own Steve Maillet. In addition to the laughs and tunes there will also be lots of fundraising activities including: an auction, 50/50, raffle and door prizes.
Tickets for the fundraising activities and auction items will all be on sale in advance of the event, so even if you can’t attend, you can still support the cause.

Event organizers have built in some great interactive features to the virtual event space. As guests check in to the event they will be able to network on a chat wall in the event lobby space, showing off what they are wearing to the event or sharing pictures of their event snacks. The event will also be partnering with local restaurants for delicious take-out options. Participating restaurants like Mexi’s and Black Rabbit will be donating a percentage of each order to Headstart (specific ordering details will be emailed to ticket purchasers).
This new virtual fundraising event is to help Moncton Headstart replace fundraising revenue lost from live events cancelled due to Covid-19. This revenue is urgently needed to continue their important work with families and young children at risk in our community. In the face of what has become our “New Normal” Moncton Headstart continues to support their families, to build hope and to ensure they know they are not alone at such a difficult time. Adapting to our new reality they are working with Raven’s Sun Management (RSM), a local event company, to launch this one of a kind virtual fundraising event to support their programs that must continue operating regardless of the challenges they face.

Patrick Ledwell’s quick-witted comedy has brought him national recognition with many appearances on CBC Radio’s The Debaters, Laugh Out Loud and Madly Off in All Directions and he is also a fan favourite of the HubCap Comedy Festival.
